Betty Meyer Obituary

Age 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, while surrounded by her family, on September 14, 2019 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Betty was born August 4, 1933 in Elmhurst, IL and grew up in Lombard, IL.  She graduated from Glenbard West HS in 1951.  She attended Lombard Bible church where she met Arthur Meyer and they were married there in 1952.  They moved to San Antonio where Art was stationed while in the military.  They subsequently relocated to Wheaton, IL before making a final move north to Maple Plain, MN in 1967. Betty was dedicated to her family and faith.  She was an active member/volunteer at Maple Plain Community Church, serving on many committees.  Besides raising their 5 children, Betty supported Art’s restaurant businesses by performing the administrative activities. She was generous, loyal, kind, humble and compassionate.  Betty quietly left an indelible impact on the ones who knew and loved her.  Her family was large, yet everyone always felt special and loved by her.  She never missed celebrating their birthdays or holidays.  Betty was an outstanding cook and baker and worked tirelessly to make sure Sunday afternoon family meals were memorable. Betty is survived by her husband of 66 years, Arthur; children, David (Joslyn), Sheryl (John), Janet (Scott), Sandra (Kraig), Mark (Jodi); 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at Maple Plain Community Church, 1815 Budd Street, Maple Plain MN on Thursday, September 19th at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior. Memorials may be directed to Maple Plain Community Church.
