Age 92 of Excelsior, passed away June 29, 2018. Born December 27, 1925 in Tulsa, OK to Charles & Clara (Eckert) Ramsey. Charles fought for our freedom in WWll, in the 137th Infantry and was awarded 3 Bronze Stars. He attended Ohio University where he was a member of the Acacia Fraternity; Ohio State - MSE in Math & Physics; and St Thomas - MBA. His career involved Group & Individual Insurance, Financial Planning and Securities.
Charles love of nature, camping, canoeing and the BWCA was passed along to his family. He realized his dream of owning a sailboat with Jeanne; and felt lucky to be a snowbird with her. He led Boy Scouts, enjoyed playing trumpet in dance bands, jazz & classical music, model railroading, photography, old westerns, puns, and discussing politics and religion.
Preceded in death by his parents, sister, Barbara Geyer, first wife, Mary Lou White and 2nd wife, Jeanne Bradley. Survived by son, Charles (Deb) and daughter, Melissa (Merv) Larson, step-daughters, Linda (Ray) Tiernan and Carol Mount (Gino Elsea), grandchildren, Matt, Kristin, Rachel, Ryan, David, John, Joshua, Stephen, Joel, Elizabeth, Emily, John, Michael, David and Andrew; 6 great-grandchildren. Heartfelt thanks are sent to the wonderful, loving and caring staff at the BeeHive Homes of Excelsior.
Memorial service will be held Thursday 10:30 AM July 19th at the David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 East Wayzata Blvd, Wayzata. Visitation begins at 9:30 AM. Please wear colorful clothing- Dad enjoyed them. Memorials preferred to Lewy Body Dementia Association or Fisher House, MN.
