Guy Allen Obituary

Dearly beloved husband, father and grandfather. Age 86 of Medina, MN (Colorado Springs, CO). Passed away on September 25, 2009. 1941 graduate of Washburn HS, Navy pilot and WWII veteran, which affected his life deeply and he proudly flew the American flag for most of his life. Aeronautical Engineering graduate of the University of Minnesota and 29 year employee of Honeywell. Born May 22, 1923 in Minneapolis, MN. Preceded in death by parents, Guy and Harriett Allen; siblings, James, William and Priscilla (Jacobson). Survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Genevieve; their children, David and his children, Shawn (Kelsey) and Beth; Sandy (Al) and their son, Michael; Charlie (Terrie) and their children, Ben and Kinsey Taylor; Stephanie and her children, Patrick and April; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. He accepted Christ at an early age and God influenced all that he did; financially, in business and in the way he and his wife raised their family. He was very hard working and dedicated himself fully to any project he took on. He served his community (Hospitality House and prison ministries) and his church. He loved sports both as a spectator and a participant. He was an avid skier, hockey player and coach and he loved to tell stories about his days of following the Minneapolis Millers. He thoroughly enjoyed all of his pets, too numerous to be mentioned. Special thanks to Dr. Scott Jensen. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 1 at 12:30 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2060 6th Ave. N., Long Lake, MN. Interment at Fort Snelling. Memorials preferred to French Camp, One Fine Place, French Camp, MS 39745, and the Alzheimers Association, 4550 W 77th St. #200, Edina, MN 55435.
