Marilynn Teichert, 88, long time resident of Minnetonka, died surrounded by her family on May 12, 2019, after a long battle with complications from a stroke and dementia. She was born January 12, 1931 in Grand Rapids, MI to Jack and Esther DeHoog.
A 1949 graduate of Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw, MI, she went on to study nursing at Grand Rapids Junior College and graduated from Blodgett Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Passionate about nursing, she was a head nurse of a surgical floor at a very young age. She married Conrad Teichert, Jr. in 1954 in Grand Rapids, MI. Her family was her greatest joy and she raised them in Grand Rapids, Cleveland, Atlanta, and Minnetonka.
Marilynn was a woman of strong religious faith that guided her path through life. She was a voracious reader, who enjoyed reading to both her children and grandchildren. Her talents included knitting, needlework, quilting, poetry, and cooking. Marilynn was active in her church, working on the altar guild, funeral committee, card writing ministry, and cofounding the prayer shawl ministry.
Preceded in death by her parents and brother David. Survived by her loving husband of 65 years Conrad Teichert, Plymouth; daughters Nancy Hohbein, Plymouth; Lisa Johnson (Paul), Wildwood, MO; Cynthia Holmquist (Daniel), Plymouth; Susan Knoll (David), Plymouth; son Matthew, Minnetonka; and eleven grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10:30 on Friday, June 7 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral, 19 Oak Grove St, Minneapolis, 55403. Reception to follow. Interment at St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral Columbarium. Memorials preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association, St. Mark’s library, or charity of your choice.
