Mary Elasarian Pederson – 1930-2018
Mary Elasarian Pederson, of Plymouth, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2018. Mary, the daughter of Armenian immigrants, grew up in the tight-knit Armenian American community in Waukegan, Illinois, where she learned the value of family, friends, hard work and thrift. In 1956 she married Douglas Guy Pederson and began a journey that would lead her to Kenosha WI; Evart MI; West Chicago IL; Lancaster OH; Waterville OH; and Plymouth MN. Mary was the model wife/mother of her generation – a stay at home mom who kept an immaculate house, was an amazing cook, kept three energetic boys on task, managed the family checkbook, and supported her husband at home and professionally. She took great pride in her husband, her three sons, her three granddaughters and her seven great grandchildren, and she was not shy about singing their praises to anyone in her presence. Mary is survived by her sons, Mark (Barb), Michael (Jeni) and Bob (Laura); three granddaughters, Alyssa Anderson (Chad), Rachel Pederson and Natalie Pederson; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elizabeth and Anna Elasarian, and one brother, John Elasarian. She is preceded in death by her husband, Doug and her parents, Ohan and Siranoosh Elasarian. She will be missed dearly. Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2018 at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 Wayzata Blvd East, Wayzata, with visitation beginning two hours prior to service. Memorials may be directed to Our Lady of Peace Home, 2076 St. Anthony Ave, St. Paul, MN, 55104.
