Agnes Stelzner Obituary
Stelzner, Agnes Veronica (Schlagel) age 100, of Medicine Lake died of natural causes Dec. 4th, 2006 in Canyon Lake, CA, while staying with her son. Agnes grew up on the family farm in Murdock, MN. After graduation from St. Cloud State College, she was a teacher in the White Bear Lake School District. She married Morrill E. Stelzner of White Bear Lake in 1937 and in 1939 they purchased a summer cottage on the Peninsula at Medicine Lake, which they converted to year around living. Agnes and Morrill and eleven other homeowners were instrumental in the formation of the City of Medicine Lake established in 1944. She continued to do volunteer work for the city until 2004. Agnes has been a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church since 1939. Her husband, two infant daughters, two sisters and one brother preceded Mrs. Stelzner in death. She is survived by her brother Tom Schlagel (and Lu Ann) of Murdock, MN, son John of Canyon Lake, CA, daughter Joan of Aurora, CO, five grandchildren, and four great-granddaughters. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Friday, Dec. 15 at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Plymouth with visitation starting at 10 AM.
