Alan Fischer Obituary
You know how theres always that one person in every circle of family and friends who is the life of the party? The person who would give the very shirt off their back if you needed it? The person that took care of his family no matter what and who you could count on that would go out of their way to do you a favor?
Alan "Albo" Fischer, 64, a proud resident of Plymouth, MN was that person for many people.
Sadly, Alan left behind his pain caused by a year-long heroic battle with cancer on April 18th, 2017.
Born September 27th, 1952 in Bismarck, North Dakota, raised in Hague, North Dakota, Alan provided humor and infectious energy and brought out playful elements for anyone within earshot. He brightened any room on even the cloudiest of days. He was also stubborn. Very very stubborn. He was an avid connoisseur of watermelon, jumbo shrimp, vanilla malts, captain diets and let's not forget his penchant for backseat driving and Ukrainian cuisine.
Alan enjoyed sports of all kinds; he was an avid softball and tennis player, among others, for many years. He liked to duck hunt in his earlier years, he loved to travel and he really enjoyed photography. He also loved his hummingbirds and frequented Fort Myers Beach whenever he could.
Alan graduated from Hague High School in Hague, ND and attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND. He was employed by Buhler in Plymouth, MN for 45+ years.
Alan is survived by his mother, Phyllis Fischer; his favorite (and only) child, Melanie (Jeff) Robertson; grandson, Ian, granddaughter, Ashley; brother, Mark (Karen) Fischer, brother, Galen (Mary) Fischer, brother, Duane, sister, Brenda; nieces, Michon and Alyssa; nephews, Alex, Dana, Kurt, Kevin and Keith as well as countless other family members and friends he considered his extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Fischer.
