Andrew Salmela Obituary Age 22, of Plymouth, Minnesota passed away August 29th, 2016. Andrew is survived by his mother, Barb and her husband, Kevin; brothers, Aaron (Dede Friedland) and Adam; grandparents, Harvey & Eileen Wilmer of Warroad, Minnesota; uncles & aunts, Bruce & Stacy Wilmer of Warroad, Minnesota, Stuart & Beth McFarlane of Roseau, Minnesota, Bryan & Julie Wilmer of Warroad, Minnesota; cousins, Evan (Kaci), Mitchell & Abby Wilmer, Stephanie, Samantha & Hunter McFarlane, Jake, Beau & Gage Wilmer, and his Siberian Husky, Ice, and many close friends. Andrew was born August 22, 1994 in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. He graduated from Wayzata High School in 2013. He was a senior at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND majoring in Wildlife Biology in the College of Arts and Sciences. Andrew was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed ice fishing, muskie lake fishing, sturgeon and catfish river fishing. Andrew loved to go to deer camp with his brothers, uncles, aunt, and cousins. Special memories were always made. His smile, blue eyes, cowboy boots, and Wilmer Honey Hat were his trademark. Andrew worked at Einsteins Bros Bagel Shop and Gehrman Animal Hospital during his high school years. He worked for his uncle Bruce during the summers at Wilmer Honey Farms in Warroad, Minnesota. Andrew found honey bees interesting and enjoyed the process of honey production. Andrew also worked at Lowe's in Grand Forks while attending college. Memorial service for Andrew will be on Saturday, September 3rd, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and a service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Wayzata Free Church, 705 County Road 101 North, Plymouth, Minnesota.
