Obituary

Arthur Henningsen Jr Obituary Loving husband, father, grandfather, and Wayzata resident Arthur Edward Henningsen Jr. was killed in a car accident the morning of Saturday, August 22. He was 69 years old. He is survived by his wife Kathleen, his sons Timothy (Molly), Andrew (Leah), & Christopher (Sydne), as well as grandchildren Hannah, Emily, Caden, sister Mary Pollei, Aunt Georgia Heffel, and nieces and nephews. While Art was proud of his professional career and academic background (he attended the University of Wisconsin and received his MBA from the University of Chicago), he ultimately felt his greatest accomplishment was his family. His wife Kathy was truly his soulmate and beloved partner for 45 years of marriage. Despite a busy work schedule (he had a long and successful career as an executive at Ecolab in St. Paul until he retired in 2000), Art was a fixture on the sidelines for all of his boys' hockey, football, and soccer games. He delighted in watching sports with his sons, especially the Wisconsin Badgers. In retirement, Art did some consulting and enjoyed being a mentor to many former coworkers, family, and friends who looked to him for advice. He could often be seen riding his bike in Wayzata, and he took great pleasure in spending time with his wife, kids, their spouses, and grandchildren. He was an active member of St. Philip the Deacon Church and served on the Church Council and Foundation Board. On August 8th, surrounded by his entire family, he witnessed the baptism of his grandson Caden. Visitation services will be held at David Lee Funeral Home in Wayzata, 1220 East Wayzata Boulevard, from 4pm-7pm on Friday, August 28. Funeral services to take place at St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church, 17205 County Road 6, Plymouth on Saturday, August 29, with visitation from 1pm-2pm, the funeral service at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, the Henningsen family would appreciate donations being made to St. Philip the Deacon, Disabled American Veterans, or a charity of your choice. Art always had a smile on his face, and would expect the same out of family and friends during this celebration of his life.
