Biography
Nicol, Audrey A. of St. Paul, formerly of Grays Bay, Lake Minnetonka passed away peacefully on December 29, 2016 at 96 years young. Preceded in death by husband Arthur; sons, John daughter-in-law, Donna. Survived by daughter, Joan Nicol-Hoium (Bob); 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Dianna Cochran; stepbrother, Arthur Oberg; nieces, nephews and friends. Born October 17, 1920 in Minneapolis, 1938 graduate of Minneapolis Central High School. Prolific lifelong volunteer at Trinity Episcopal Church where she sang in the choir, helped run the Clothes Hanger and many other committees. She also volunteered along with husband Art for Clan MacLeod Society, Groveland Cemetery Association & Minnetonka Historical Society. After moving to St. Paul she continued being active by singing with the Sage Singers, knitting group, altar help and was a regular at social gatherings. The family wishes to thank the staffs of HealthEast Hospice and Gilbert House at Episcopal Church Home for the compassionate care they gave Audrey in her final weeks. A celebration of Audrey's life will take place Friday, January 13th at 11 AM, Coventry Chapel on the Episcopal Homes Campus, 1840 University Avenue West, St. Paul. Visitation will be held Thursday 4-7 PM at Trinity Episcopal Church, 322 Second Street, Excelsior and 1 hour prior to the service at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Trinity Episcopal Church Music Fund or Episcopal Church Homes, The Terrace at Iris Park.
