Betty LeDell Obituary Betty Jean Wasgatt LeDell , age 94, of Minnetonka joined her husband, Lloyd in Heaven on July 20, 2016. She was preceded in death by parents, David & Jennie Wasgatt, sisters, Peg Swaggert, Barb Roberts, Diane Erickson and Nan Kangas. Survived by sons, John (Ruth), Terry (Jean), daughters, Anne (Nhat) LeDell Hong, Jean (Keenan) Richardson. Also survived by 9 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren, siblings, David Wasgatt, Suzanna Johnson, Tom Wasgatt, Steve Wasgatt and Kate Heinecke. She was raised in Orono, MN. and attended school in Long Lake, living long enough to see her old school become a museum. Betty was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Deephaven since 1949 where she taught nursery school, Sunday school and was the librarian for 50 years . She was passionate about church libraries and was very involved with the Lutheran Library Association. She also loved to travel which took her to all 50 states and Western Europe, the Middle East and Australia. As the oldest of 10 children, she was an important mother figure for her younger siblings as well as surrogate grandmother to her 40 nieces and nephews. Her calendar was marked with the birthdays of all of her family and friends and she always remembered to send a birthday card. Even as her eyesight failed her, she always managed to send greetings, adding a "Love and God Bless" to her signature. Funeral Service will be 11:00 am on Saturday, August 6th at Grace Lutheran Church in Deephaven. Visitation will be Friday, August 5th from 5pm-7pm at David Lee Funeral Home in Wayzata and 1 hour before the service at the Church.
