Betty Schwie Obituary Schwie, Betty Arline died 11-12-13 at the age of 90 from complications of breast cancer, surrounded by family. She was born February 13, 1923 in South Mpls to Emma and Manuel Larson. A proud graduate of South High and the U of M, she was married for 59 yrs to Don Schwie and nurtured six children, numerous animals, countless friendships, all while working as a medical technologist. Betty delighted with her radiant smile and positive attitude. She led a charmed life growing up in South Mpls, adored by her parents and friends. She made lifelong friendships with the South High "TNT's" and played clarinet in the marching band. Betty loved the work and friends she made as a med tech. From the couple's start in Richfield to their favorite farm on Vicksburg, family was the center of their lives. She is survived by children, Larry, Lynn (Scott Goldsmith), Ward (Cindy), Jill (David Jursik) and Beth Dayton (Lenny); grandchildren (Jessica, Chet, Brad, Wes, Claire, Paul, Elizabeth, Scotty, Andy, Nick, Ben, Will, and Sam); 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by the tragic loss of her son, Mark and the passing of her husband, Don; brother, sister, and parents. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Union Gospel Mission. The funeral will be held Monday, 11-18 at Wayzata Community Church at 11am.
