Blair Jenness Obituary Jenness, Blair Lindsay of Minnetonka Beach, MN. Born July 28, 1944 in Kearns, Utah and passed away May 16, 2010. Blair is survived by his wife, Mary Sue; son, Blair Matthew (wife Melissa); daughter, Lindsay (husband Alex); mother, Virginia Lindsay Jenness; sister, Charlotte Foster (husband Bill); two grandchildren, two nephews and three nieces.Blair attended Breck School through the 12th grade. In 1968 he received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Rensaleer Polytechnic Institute where he played for RPI's Division I Ice Hockey Team. Blair held several leadership positions throughout his career at leading power and energy companies including Northern States Power (Xcel). Most recently, Blair founded Triangle Energy Associates, Inc in which he was developing renewable energy sources and energy solutions for which he held patents. Blair was an active member of Rotary International and, through his local Minneapolis chapter, he taught financial literacy classes to under-privileged youths in Minneapolis. Blair was an active member of St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church.He proudly served his community through the finance committee at Jones Harrison Residence and as an active participant in local town governance. Blair was an avid sailor and enjoyed racing A-Scow sailboats as a member of The Minnetonka Yacht Club. Additionally, he served on the Inland Lakes Yachting Association's (ILYA) Board of Directors several times. Blair was, until recently, a long-time coach for various, local boys' hockey teams.Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, May 20 at 10 AM at The Church of St. Bartholomew, 630 E. Wayzata Blvd, Wayzata. Visitation Wednesday, May 19 from 5-8 PM (with a prayer service at 7 PM) at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 E. Wayzata Blvd, Wayzata and 1 hour before the Mass on Thursday at church. Private interment at Lakewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in support of Pulmonary Fibrosis research preferred to the University of Minnesota Interstitial Lung Disease Research and Education Fund, Minnesota Medical Foundation, PO Box 64001, St. Paul, MN 55164-0001.
