Obituary

Carrol l Obituary Hokanson, Chet E. Age 72, of Eagan, MN, died peacefully in the hospital at Abbott- Northwestern on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 after a difficult and courageous battle with a rare neurological disorder. Chet was born on May 19, 1936 to Myron and Gertine Hokanson of Sioux Falls, SD. He is preceded in death by his parents. Chet is survived by his wife, whom he loved and adored, Karen; son, Eric (Rebecca); daughter, Kim Gorjestani (Alec); and son, Troy (Melissa). Chet was the proud grandfather of four grandchildren that he cherished, Noah and Sophia Gorjestani, Michael and Katie Hokanson. He was a Vietnam veteran and served in Da Nang from 1966- 1967. His total military service encompassed fourteen years in the US Air Force and MN Air National Guard. He retired in 1999 from the Ford Twin Cities Assembly Plant in St. Paul after 33 years of service. Chet had a variety of hobbies including golf and his passion, which was woodworking. He also enjoyed volunteering for the Boy Scouts of America, Habitat for Humanity and worked on a litany of home improvement projects throughout his lifetime. While it is difficult to find the words that truly describe how much Chet will be missed, the void in our lives will be everlasting. Funeral service will be held at St. Phillip the Deacon Lutheran Church (17205 County Rd. 6) in Plymouth at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 11, 2008. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
