Cathryn Textor Obituary Textor, Cathryn Marie 3/31/1951-1/24/2023 Age 71, of San Diego, CA. Beloved sister of Carole Hunter (Andrew M.) and nieces, Ashley Hunter, Lacey Wismer (Justin) and Jocelyn Hornblower (Josiah); four grand-nieces and five grand-nephews. Preceded in death by parents Verna and Harry Textor of Edina. Cathy was a graduate of Edina High School (1969) where she was an honor society student, member of Aqua Nymphs synchronized swim team as well as part of the Homecoming Court. She attended Arizona State University from 1969-1971; then transferred to St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN where she received a B.A. in Psychology (1973). During her St. Olaf years Cathy spent a memorable global semester which kindled her love of travel. Post college she spent time as a missionary in Bolivia and gained fluency in Spanish as well as a love for the culture, which she carried throughout her life. She worked as a counselor at a youth home in Minneapolis. She later settled in San Diego where she lived in Mission Hills and Mission Valley for over 40 years, working at San Diego Unified School District in Research reporting and Grants. Cathy was a true lover of San Diego and knew the city well, spending many hours exploring in her very recognizable pride and joy 1969 VW Camper Van. Cathy was a wonderful person who had an authentic ability to connect with everyone she met and was generous and kind. She will be missed by all those who were fortunate to know her.
