Obituary

Charles Crosby Obituary Crosby, Charles Washburn Age 92 died after a long struggle with Parkinsons on April 14, 2018. He was born in Minneapolis on November 21, 1925. He is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Esther Crosby, his brother Albert Crosby Jr. his first wife Rita Rotering and second wife, Judy Howard. He is survived by his sisters, Ann Crosby Nichols, Esther Crosby DeBra (Dan); brother, John Crosby Jr. (Laura); son, Charles "Chip" Crosby Jr. (Carol); daughter, Dana Crosby Schrempp; grandchildren, Slater (Hannah) Schrempp, Paige Schrempp, and Callie Schrempp; and several nieces and nephews. Charlie graduated from Blake School in 1944 and the University of Minnesota after he returned from service in the US Army as a Tanker with General Patton's armored division in Europe. He was a proud member of the Chi Psi Fraternity at the University of Minnesota. He spent his entire career as a salesman for the Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance company. Charlie was an optimist about almost everything. The glass was always half full for him; every year he was sure that the University of Minnesota was going to the Rose Bowl, no day skiing in the mountains was complete unless you took 14 runs down the expert runs and did not stop for lunch, that any dedicated golfer was able to carry his bag for 36 holes on the same day to compete for the title of Iron Man, (an annual tournament that he started many years ago at Woodhill), and throw in riding in a professional rodeo at the age of 53. There will be a visitation on Friday, April 20th from 5-7pm at the David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 E. Wayzata Blvd., Wayzata. There will be a private family interment at Lakewood Cemetery on Saturday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army, Wayzata American Legion Post 118 or the Minnesota Historical Society.  Born: November 21, 1925 Death: April 14, 2018 Share your thoughts and memories in the guestbook.
