Obituary

Charles LeFevere Obituary Age 69, of Dassel, formerly of Minnetonka, passed away peacefully and in his wifes arms on January 30, after a battle with lymphoma. Charlie graduated from St. Olaf College in 1968 and the U. of M. Law School in 1975, and was an officer in the U.S. Navy 1969-1972. A shareholder in the Kennedy & Graven law firm, he was city attorney for New Brighton, Rosemount, Brooklyn Center, Cambridge, and Rice, and interim city attorney for Minnetonka. He was one of only two attorneys to provide legal counsel to the Lake Minnetonka Conservation District. He also represented the Shingle Creek and Bassett Creek watershed management districts. He was president of the Brooklyn Center Rotary Club, chair of the Minnetonka Board of Zoning Adjustment, president of the Wayzata Youth Hockey Association, and frequently an invited speaker at legal forums. Charlie was a kind, caring, selfless, honorable man with a big smile and an always-present sense of humor. He cherished his wife, was so proud of his children and grandchildren, and delighted in spending time with all of them. He loved hunting and fishing, and the annual trips with his buddies. His beloved dog Jambo, was always at his side as he worked on trails or rehabbed the cabin. He was so loved and will be so terribly missed by his wife, Kathryn, son, Rob (Jenny), daughter, Kate Gourley (Chad), grandchildren, Casey, Calvin, Gavin, and Brayden, and brothers, Tom (Jeanne) and Clayton (Mary). A celebration of Charlies life will take place Thursday, 2:00 p.m. at Wayzata Community Church, 125 Wayzata Blvd. E., Wayzata. Visitation Wednesday, 5-7 p.m., at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 East Wayzata Blvd., Wayzata. Memorials may be sent to St. Olaf College or Pheasants Forever.
