Curtis Lindholm Obituary 1926-2014 Lake Independence-Maple Plain, MN Born to Paul Fabricius and Laura Marie Lindholm in the old Lee Hospital, Watertown, MN Survived by wife of 65 years, Marlys; children, Paul F. Lindholm II of Sydney, Australia, Elizabeth (Doug) Pederson of Bryn Mar, Minneapolis, Peter F. (Stacey) Lindholm of Medina; brother, Wallace (Irma) Lindholm of Glenwood City, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Whitney Thornton of Milwaukee, Oliver and Frederick Lindholm of Sydney, Australia, Conner, Jensen and Halle Lindholm of Medina; and special nieces, Kristen (Mitch) Avery and Laurie (Donald) DeVeau. Graduate of Mound Consolidated High School in 1944, attended the University of Minnesota and River Falls State after service in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. At Mound High he was Student Council President, played basketball (67) center in the old Lake Conference. Was selected all conference in addition to calling the signals as end on the Mound Mohawk Football team. A banker's son, Paul followed his father's career choice joining Northwestern National Bank, now Wells Fargo, retiring as Sr. Vice-President after many years as head of the Correspondent Bank Department. Retired President and Chairman of the Bank of Maple Plain following the death of his father. Past President of Minnesota Banker's Association from 1976-77. Chairman American Bankers Association. Correspondent Bank Committee. Elected Hennepin County Park Board Commissioner serving 8 years from 1966-74. Founding member and first chairman of Ridgeview Hospital Foundation starting the annual Golf Tournament Fund Raiser at Island View Country Club, Waconia. Served on the first Planning Commission, City of Maple Plain and helped initiate the Maple Plain Industrial Park. Past Commander of American Legion Post 514 of Maple Plain, conducting the Memorial Day services for 16 years and also past President of the American Legion and Auxiliary Heart Foundation. A first generation American of Norwegian and Danish heritage, he was an international board member of the Rebild National Park Society, a US-DK Friendship organization which has celebrated the 4th of July since 1912 in Denmark, the largest such celebration outside the U.S.A. Honored as Mayor for a Day in Aalborg, Denmark's 3rd largest City in 1996. Memberships include Vesterheim Museum,Torsk Klubben, Mound Masonic Lodge No. 320 and the Shrine Zuhrah Temple. Member of Wayzata Country, Lafayette Country Club. Past member of the Minneapolis Club and Birnam Wood Country Club, Santa Barbara, California. A man for all seasons with many hobbies including bee keeping, gardening, making wine, smoking turkeys, entertaining and enjoying his time-shares, Cabo, Kauai and Marco Island. Paul was a proud lifetime member of Christ Lutheran Church in Maple Plain where he served as treasurer for 20 years. Memorial service Friday, April 4, at 11:00 AM at Christ Lutheran Church, 5084 Main Street East, Maple Plain with a reception following at Wayzata Country Club. Visitation 1 hour prior to service. Memorials to Christ Lutheran Church of Alzheimer's Association.
