Dale Peterson Obituary Age 49, of Minnetonka passed away at home surrounded by family on September 26th after a long battle with cancer. He was born July 5, 1966 in Sioux Falls, SD.
One of the most important things in Dales life was family. It was central to nearly everything he did. He seldom missed a family function, even if it meant flying halfway across the country. He worked tirelessly in support of cancer research, organizing fundraisers through his work and encouraging others to join the fight. He was an amazing gardener, a wonderful friend and a favorite uncle to all his nieces and nephews. Above all else, one of his favorite places to visit was Marthas Vineyard. His Christmas Eve dinners were legendary. He was gentle, kind and full of life. Now, he will rest peacefully next to his beloved mother in Clark, SD.
Dale was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret (Benson) Peterson and father-in-law, John R. Rynerson.
Survived by his husband, John H. Rynerson; father, Richard W. Peterson; brothers, David (Jean) Peterson, Richard (Tonya) Peterson, Donald (Paula) Peterson and Douglas Peterson; sisters, Janet Garner, Marjorie (Robert) Peterson and Jennifer (Brian) Neumeyer; mother-in-law, Jeannine Rynerson; brothers-in-law, Michael Rynerson and Scott Rynerson; sisters-in-law, Karen Rynerson and Christine Rynerson. Dale will also be missed by the countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whose lives he touched.
Visitation will be held at the David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 E Wayzata Blvd in Wayzata from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Thursday, October 1st. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at St. Marks Episcopal Cathedral, 519 Oak Grove St., Minneapolis, MN. on Friday, October 2nd beginning at 11:00am followed by a reception. Interment service will be held at Clark Center Lutheran Church in Clark, SD on Saturday, October 3rd at 1:00pm.
