Dave Johnson, born April 23, 1965, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away in his beloved home on May 9, 2026 in Medina, Minnesota at 61 years old.

Dave was an intelligent man with a sharp mind and an even sharper wit. He was well known for his dark sense of humor—often subtle, sometimes unexpected, and always memorable. He took great interest in current events, valued staying informed and remaining engaged with the world around him. One of his greatest joys was sharing a life of travel and adventure with his adoring wife, as well as being part of the close-knit community in their neighborhood. Dave’s garden was where he found peace, purpose, and a quiet connection to the present moment. It was a place that reflected his persistence, care, and appreciation for growth in all its forms.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Ellen Johnson and Thomas Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife, Jamie Johnson; his sons, Benjamin Johnson (Cassandra) and Samuel Johnson (Christine); and his cherished grandchildren, Ally & Emmy (Ben), and Logan (Sam). He is also survived by his brother, Mark Johnson (Joan), and his sisters, Mary Alexander (Gregg), Annie Anderson (Michael), Peggy Williams (Tim), Bridget Johnson (Dan), Diana Nolz (Terry) and Denise Curran (Scott). He will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews and cherished by his dear friends and colleagues.

Dave will be forever remembered for his intellect, humor, curiosity, and the lasting mark he left with his family and to all who knew him.

Celebration of Life and Visitation services will be held at the Medina Ballroom (500 Hwy 55, Medina, MN 55340) on May 17th. Visitation begins at 9am with the service starting at 10:30am. Celebration event to follow 11:15am. All are welcome.
