Dean Smith Obituary Smith, Dean E. of Plymouth, died of cancer April 18, 2007 at age 75. Dean was a graduate of Breck School and Macalester College. During his career he was a loan officer with First National Bank of Mpls. and financial advisor for R & D Management Co. He served on several boards including, Quetico-Superior National Park, Big Bear Stores, Resource Bank, Michael Foods & Community First Banks. Dean enjoyed hunting, fishing & playing golf locally at Baker National and Millbrook Country Club in Arrowtown, New Zealand where he spent his winters. He was preceded in death by his parents Randolph & Ethel. He is survived by his wife Jacqueline; daughter Darcy Doering; granddaughter, Lindsay Doering; brother, Alan & his wife Anne; and his favorite hunting dog, Birdie. A Celebration of Dean's life will be held 3:00pm Tuesday at Wayzata Community Church, (125 E Wayzata Blvd). In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Wayzata Community Church or the new Athletics and Recreation Center at Macalester College. Dean will be forever in the hearts of his family and friends.
