Deanne Straka Obituary Deanne (Gray) Straka, Age 75 of Wayzata, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dean Gray and Adeline West. Deanne was well known and loved by everyone she met. She gave selflessly, loved completely, and embraced life with enthusiasm and grace. She had a passion for knitting and tending to her gardens, but many remember her best for her kindness and love of children. As a lifelong resident of Wayzata, Deanne was dedicated to sharing her knowledge and history of the Lake Minnetonka area. Friends described her as smart, funny, generous, creative and wonderful; she was all these things and so much more. Deanne will live on in the hearts and souls of her family: the love of her life and husband of 55 fantastic years Gordy; daughters, Betsy (Mike) and Kari (Mark), sons, Tom (Kelly) and Mike (Amanda); and her ten adoring grandchildren: Mitchell, Jane, Rose, Jonathan, Thomas, Ted, Maddie, Emma, Dylan and Charlie. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hammer Residences are preferred. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 1st at St. Philip the Deacon 17205 County Road 6 in Plymouth. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service; colorful attire is requested. A celebration of life to follow.
