Obituary

Dennis Clarence Roesler, born on December 20, 1943, in Jamestown, North Dakota, to Naomi and Clarence Roesler, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 4, 2026 surrounded by family. Dennis spent his life building both a career and a family he was deeply proud of. He raised his family in Jamestown, North Dakota and Minnetonka, Minnesota, and most recently resided at Harrison Bay Senior Living in Mound, Minnesota.

Dennis was the beloved husband of Pamela Morse Roesler for almost 62 years, a devoted father and most importantly, a treasured Papa. He is survived by his daughter, Suzanne Johnsrud (Mike), and their children Tyler (Cheyanne) and Emily; and his son, Kristofer (Aimee), and their children Avery and William. He is also survived by his two younger brothers, Richard (Eve) and Donald (Sheryl), and sister-in-law, Judy Ogle, as well as many nieces and nephews and countless friends.

Dennis began working at White Drug at the age of 14 as a stock boy, marking the start of a lifelong career with the company. Through dedication, creativity, and a strong work ethic, he rose through the ranks to become the youngest Vice President at the age of 30, serving in the areas of advertising and marketing. After his time at White Drug, Dennis and his family owned and operated several Dairy Queen restaurants for over twenty years. He especially loved chatting with customers and truly enjoyed interacting with his staff, finding joy in the relationships he built every day.

In retirement, Dennis embraced life with the same enthusiasm he brought to his work. He enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Mexico, Brazil, cruising in the Caribbean, and wintering at their home in Mesa, Arizona, where he spent countless hours painting on canvas and sharing his art with friends and family. He also filled his time golfing, entertaining, telling jokes, buying new gadgets & gizmos, listening to music, dabbling in photography, looking at the stars and helping anyone who needed a hand. Some of his most treasured moments were spent with his children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories that reflected how deeply he valued time with family.

Above all, Dennis cherished his family and the life he built for them. He was proud of his German heritage and made his Grandma Scherbenske's spaetzle noodles every Christmas. He often reminisced about growing up surrounded by a family of Germans and long-held German traditions, which he then passed down to his children and grandchildren. He fell in love with Pam as a teenager in Fargo, North Dakota and was by her side for almost 62 years. They were soulmates from the beginning to the very end when he passed away holding her hand. He will be remembered for his generosity, warmth, and the love he shared with those closest to him.

Dennis's Celebration of Life will be held at David Lee Funeral Home in Wayzata, Minnesota on Sunday, January 11, 2026 starting with a visitation at noon; service and reception to follow.
