Donald (Don, Big Don) Francis Frost, 80, of Inver Grove Heights, died peacefully in his sleep Thursday, February 5th at Walker Westwood Ridge in West St. Paul, Minnesota.

Don was born November 5, 1945 in Minnedosa, Manitoba, Canada, the first of three boys, to Reverend Carl Frost and Elinor Frost.

Don and Joanne were married February 27, 1965, in Minnetonka, Minnesota, living in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Burlington, Ontario, London, Ontario, and ultimately retiring to Minnesota in 2008.

Don spent 40 years in the insurance business working for several companies, ultimately coming to acquire his own agency along with Joanne. He appreciated the opportunity to help others successfully achieve their goals.

Big Don, as he was affectionately known by his sons' friends, with his deep voice and 6' 4" frame intimidated some at first but always won people over with his huge heart, generous nature, and personal manner.

Outside of spending time at his boys' sporting events, Don was well known for his deep bass voice, singing in many Southern Gospel quartets, recording many albums over 25 years of music ministry. His desire was to tell others about Jesus, to encourage them to put their faith and hope in Christ, so that they could one day join him on the "other side".

Don is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joanne, as well as their four boys, Paul (Tracy), Brad (Dayna), Rob (Jennifer), and Mike (Mandi). He is additionally survived by his eight granddaughters and nine grandsons, two brothers Doug (Grace) and Brian (Sheila) as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 Wayzata Blvd East, in Wayzata, MN, 55391 on Sunday, March 1, from 3-5 PM.

Funeral service will be at Grove Church, 8585 Rice Lake Road, Maple Grove, MN, 55369 on Monday March 2, at 11 AM with visitation starting at 10 AM.
