Donald Jackson Obituary Jackson, Donald Eldredge III (Edge) Edge died at his home on January 4, 2007 of pancreatic cancer. Edge was born May 21, 1940 in New York City. He grew up in Providence, Rhode Island and graduated from St. George's School in Newport, Rhode Island in 1959. In 1963, Edge graduated from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia and shortly thereafter was drafted into the Army and spent two years in Panama where he served in a combat engineer unit that ran a jungle warfare school. In 1966, Edge married Kit Keith. They lived in Providence, RI for three years before moving to Minnesota in 1969. Edge began his career in banking at Northwestern National Bank of Minneapolis in 1971 and retired from Wells Fargo in 1999. Edge spent his life dedicated to his wife and family. His primary interests included supporting his children's athletic and business endeavors. He was also an avid golfer who spent his leisure time with close friends enjoying the great game of golf. At the time of his death, Edge was member of Woodhill Country Club in Wayzata, Minnesota -- he previously served on the Board and as Woodhill Country Club's President from 1999-2000 -- and the Hillsboro Club in Pompano Beach, Florida. Edge is survived by his wife, Kit; their children, D and Kate and her husband Eric; sisters, Mimi Price and Holly Childs and her husband Mabon; brother-in-law, Robert Keith and wife Michele; mother-in-law, Freda Keith; grandchildren, Ava and Cameron; nephews, Robert Keith and wife Marisa, Penry Price and wife Melissa, David Price, Toby Price and wife Jen and nieces, Laura Bredesen and husband Matt, Frazer Childs, Ellie Childs, Margot Childs. Edge was very grateful for the many encouraging phone calls, letters and notes he received from friends near and far. Following a private family memorial service, we invite friends to join us for a brief tribute to Edge on Tuesday, January 9 from 5:30-7:00 PM at Woodhill Country Club, 200 Woodhill Road, Wayzata, Minnesota. The family would like memorials to be directed to either Virginia Piper Cancer Institute, Abbott Northwestern Hospital, 800 East 28th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55407 or St. Georges School, P.O. Box 1910, Newport, RI 02840-0190.
