Donald Schwie Obituary
Schwie, Donald G. Age 84, of Bloomington, formerly Wayzata and Hamel. Born February 8, 1922 died August 18, 2006. Preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Schwie. Survived by his loving wife of 59-1/2 years, Betty; children, Larry, Lynn (Scott Goldsmith), Ward (Cindy), Mark, Jill (David Jursik), Beth (Lenny Dayton); grandchildren, Jessica, Chet, Brad, Wes Schwie; Claire, Paul, Elizabeth, Scott II Goldsmith; Andy, Nick Jursik; Ben,Will, Sam Dayton; great-grandchildren, Lauren Peltier, Liam and Sophia Schwie. Don served with the US Marines for 3-1/2 years during WWII. He raised his family in Wayzata and Hamel surrounded by love, adventures, and many beloved family pets. He worked in meat sales, served as Scoutmaster at Wayzata Community Church in the 60's and spent much of his free time remodeling his farmhouse on Vicksburg Lane. Don is greatly loved and will be missed by all his family and friends. The family would like to give thanks to the Masonic Home and the Fairview Hospice staff for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to donor's favorite charity. Memorial service Tuesday, August 22, 1:00 pm at MN Masonic Home Chapel, 111501 Masonic Home Drive, Bloomington. 952-948-7000
