Donald Waage Obituary
Waage Donald Waage, 81, of Minnetonka died on August 7 of lung cancer. He graduated from St. Cloud State University (B.A.) and The American University (M.A.) in Washington D.C. He served in the 82nd Airborne Division in Europe during WWII and with the Minnesota National Guard including service during the Korean War, retiring with the rank of Major. He taught journalism in St. Cloud Public Schools then worked for the Minnesota Bankers Association. He then went to Washington D.C. where he was a executive with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. He returned to Minnesota to work for IDS and Jostens. He was a longtime member of Wayzata Country Club. Preceded in death by daughter, Laurie Ann. Survived by his wife, Lori, daughter, Suzanne Friedman and husband Kenneth, sons, Donn and wife Virginia Housum, Bruce and wife Helene, Eric and wife Krismar, brother, Alton, sister, Pearl, 9 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Visitation Wednesday 5 to 7 PM at David Lee Funeral Home, Wayzata. Memorial service Thursday 11 AM at Westminster Presbyterian Chapel (Nicollet Mall at 12 St. Mpls.) with interment, Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
