Dorance Ryerse Jr. Obituary Dorance David Ryerse
Was born in Minneapolis, MN on August 11th, 1932 and passed away peacefully on November 10th, 2022 surrounded by family at the age of 90.
Proceeded in death by his parents Dorance and Bernice Ryerse. David attended Edina High School where he won numerous awards for academics and track. He also participated in football and basketball. He went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota.
On June 16, 1956, he married his best friend and loving wife, Mary Lysne and they had two children, Mimi Ryerse and Davey Ryerse. He also leaves behind an older brother William (Bill) Ryerse, and two nieces who he has always been very fond of, Darcy Wright and Wendy Asplund.
David began his career at Thompson Lumber company working for his father, later he took over the business with his brother. David was also an active member with the Minneapolis Rotary.
He loved spending time between their family homes in Wayzata, Aspen, and Indian Wells California where they belonged to the Eldorado Country Club. He loved to golf at Woodhill Country Club and Lafayette Country Club. Besides golf, he loved to travel the world with his loving wife. He also was an avid skier, active bird hunter and fly fisherman. He had a love of his many yellow labs. Both Dave and Mary were pilots and flew together on trips to their home in Colorado. David was active and lived life to the fullest up until the day he passed away.
The family is very thankful for the absolute best group of caregivers who looked after him for 2 years. Heather, Stacy, Christine, Alex, Kevin, and Becky.
There will be a private service at Lakewood Cemetery.
