Douglas Seward Obituary Seward, Douglas Day, of Hobnail Farm, Greenfield, Minnesota.
Born in Mankato, Minnesota on August 5, 1947 to Kathryn Krosch and Elmer Seward, both of who preceded him in death, died on February 6, 2015.
Doug is survived by wife, Nancy Cowette Seward; daughters, Jennifer Anne Beckman (Andrew), Elizabeth Day Seward, extended family Johnny and Blythe Brenden; his loyal companion Gus Gus, and many very special friends.
Also survived by sister, Karen Goarke (Dennis) and brother, Jim Seward (Sally) of Spearfish, South Dakota and many nieces and nephews.
He served in the Marine Corps in the Vietnam War before moving to the Twin Cities.
Dougs professional career was devoted to the Commercial Real Estate Industry beginning with movie theater development and transitioned to shopping centers/retail lease and development where he spent over 30 years employed by Kraus Anderson Realty. Through that experience Doug established lasting relationships with colleagues and clients, and was known for his win/win negotiating philosophies and respected for his business integrity.
He was an avid outdoorsman, who shared his passion for fishing and sporting clays with many great friends.
Doug was extremely proud of the beautiful Arabian horses produced in the Family breeding program which spanned over 30 years.
There is no doubt that Doug was a unique and special person with a strong will to live and a Never Give Up attitude. When fighting his cancer, he continued to rise up and come back time and time again to the amazement of everyone.
In many respects, Doug was bigger than life. He touched those he knew in many special ways, and will be forever in the hearts of his family and friends. Doug was the beloved father of two Daddy's Girls - he was the best dad.
Visitation Thursday February 12 from 6-8 PM at Riverwood Covenant Church, 7189 69th Avenue North, Greenfield (Use Vernon St. and Highway 55 on GPS devices). Riverwood Covenant Church is located approximately 13 miles west of the Plymouth 494 exit. Funeral service Friday February 13, 11 AM with visitation starting at 10 AM also at the church. Interment Elmwood Cemetery in Rockford.
