Dr. Susan Goetz Obituary Dr. Susan Goetz, age 68, Full Professor of Education, recently approved for Emeritus status at St. Catherines University, resident of Deephaven, MN passed away March 18, 2014. She is preceded in death by her two parents and one sister. A gifted author and teacher, Susan had a special interest in engaging girls and young women in science. A leading expert in science education, both locally and nationally, Dr. Goetz was one of the original members of St Catherines STEM planning group. A former Fulbright scholar, she led many Global Search for Justice (GSJ) student trips to Namibia and South Africa, as well as student trips to England. Susan was also the first director of St Catherines Education departments online masters degree program and later served as director for undergraduate and graduate licensure programs. Susan was the loving wife, mother and grandmother of surviving husband (Jay), brother (Alan), three daughters (Laura, Rebecca, and Andrea), two sons (Brian and John), and grandchildren (Erin, Jess, Anna, Alli, and Ian). The funeral mass will take place 11am Friday, March 21, 2014 at St Catherines Our Lady of Victory Chapel with a reception to follow celebrating Susans life. Reserved parking will be available along the St. Kates entrance off of Cleveland Avenue at Randolph.
