Duke Hust Obituary
Hust, George Agar Duke Duke, 73, died at home on May 23, 2007 in Orono, MN, after a battle with prostate cancer. Born on March 16, 1934 in Chicago, IL, he was son of late George W. & Virginia Agar Hust. He grew up in Wilmette, IL, and graduated from New Trier High School in 1952. While at Dartmouth College, he was Captain of the Swim Team and All-American. Upon graduation in 1956, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps for two years, achieving the rank of Captain. He returned to Chicago as a stockbroker for Dean Witter. In 1969, he became the Mpls. Branch Manager, then went on to New York to become the Assistant National Sales Manager for Dean Witter Reynolds. In 1987, he and his son David started Tealwood Asset Management in Mpls. As an avid hunter and fisherman, he was actively involved in Trout Unlimited and served as its State Chairman and on many of its committees. He had a deep love for his farm in Lanesboro where he fly fished often and raised cattle. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bridget O'Shea; daughter, Katherine (Robert) Lund; son, David W. (Heidi); daughter, Bridget A. (fiance Steve Wenum); grandchildren, Elise and Katrine Lund, Woody, Rosie and Harry Hust. He is also survived by brother, John (Cindy); sister-in-law, Dorothy Hust; many nieces, nephews, and his loving dog, Nellie. He was preceded in death by his brothers, David W. Hust and James A. Hust. A memorial service will be held at St. Luke Presbyterian Church at 2 PM Tuesday, May 29, located at 3121 Groveland School Road, Wayzata, MN 55391. Visitation 5-7 PM Monday at David Lee Funeral Home in Wayzata. Duke's final resting place will be the Root River in Lanesboro.
