Elaine Richardson Obituary Richardson, Elaine M. passed away peacefully on August 5, 2012. She was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband Leo. Survived by daughters, Lisa and Janet, as well as other loving relatives and friends. Elaine was born in St. Cloud, Minnesota and after high school moved to the Twin Cities to attend nursing school at Northwestern Hospital. She graduated and became a registered nurse in 1953 and began her career at Eitel Hospital. Elaine married her high school sweetheart in 1955, and later worked at Golden Valley Health Center and Anoka Hospital until her retirement in 1996. Elaine was a lifelong lover of animals, rescuing several cats through the years and faithfully feeding birds, ducks, geese, rabbits, and virtually anything that came into her yard. She possessed a compassionate heart, connecting with and aiding those that society or Mother Nature had not favored. Elaine was an avid gardener, a lover of music, an enthusiastic Vikings fan, and always ready to have fun. Special thanks to the staff at Freedom Pointe in Minnetonka for the wonderful care they gave Elaine the last 6 years. Heartfelt thanks also to the wonderful staff at Hospice of the Twin Cities who played such an integral role in her care the last 5 years.
