Elinor Shadley Obituary Shadley, Elinor K. (Ellie)
Age 81 of Wayzata, passed away on August 3, 2017, preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruth Kurtock of Lincoln, IL. Ellie was a flight attendant for Trans World Airlines and was one of ten ultimate survivors of the crash of TWA flight 128 upon approach to the Cincinnati, OH airport the evening of November 20, 1967. Her heroic actions on that night saved lives. She attended Bradley University and Southern Illinois University. Ellie is survived by her loving husband, retired U.S. Army major general Robert D. Shadley, and two step daughters, Constance (Stacy) McDonald of Louisville, KY and Jennifer (Jenny) Shadley of Portland, OR. She served this great Nation with distinction alongside her husband as a command team taking care of soldiers and their families in peace and war. A well read lady with a big heart who loved people and her beloved dogs over the years -- Coco, Little Bit, Remington, Sailor and Abby. A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from 5 to 8 pm at the Wayzata Country Club, 200 Wayzata Boulevard West. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Bob and Ellie Shadley Scholarship Endowment (013458).
