Elizabeth Borg Obituary Borg, Betty Webb Widow of Lloyd Edsten Borg, passed away in the early morning hours on September 28, 2008 at Methodist Hospital in Minneapolis, the city where she had been born 96 years earlier. Blessed with good health until nearly the end, Betty remained mentally alert, curious about the world, a regular patron at local restaurants, and a frequent bridge player until the last few weeks. A long time resident of Wayzata, Betty had been married to Lloyd Borg for 45 years when he passed away in 1982. In addition to her role as a wife and mother, Betty had been active in the placement of foreign students in suburban Minneapolis high schools during the first years of the American Field Service exchange programs in Minnesota; horseback riding and other activities of the Wayzata Country Club, where her husband had been the founding President; an early archivist and supporter of the Wayzata Historical Society; and a volunteer for many years at St. Barnabas Hospital in Minneapolis. Born Elizabeth Edna Webb on February 15, 1912, she was the daughter of Richard Parker Webb, Jr. and Irene Rice Palmer. She is survived by three children: Parker Webb Borg of Washington D.C. (husband of Anna Borg), Merrily Borg Babcock of Wayzata, Leslie Anne Borg of Medina; five grandchildren: Michael Joseph Babcock, Jr. of Boston, Massachusetts, Elizabeth Anne Muffy' Lokowich of Minneapolis (wife of Mark Lokowich), Lara Elizabeth Borg of Falls Church, Virginia, Erica Maria Eisenhart Borg of Blacksburg, Virginia, and Darcy Webb Borg of Washington D.C.; and three great grandchildren, the triplets: Alex, Lilly and Poppy Lokowich. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 2 at 3 pm at the Wayzata Community Church Wakefield Chapel, 125 East Wayzata Boulevard, Wayzata, followed by a short reception at the church. Interment will take place later in the day at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis. Visitation will take place Wednesday evening on October 1 between 6 and 8 pm at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 East Wayzata Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, memorial should be sent to the Wayzata Historical Society for its historical plaques project at 402 East Lake St., Wayzata, Minnesota 55391.
