Elizabeth Reese-Marton Obituary Marton-Reese, Elizabeth Anne Age 90 of Orono, MN and Tucson, AZ passed away suddenly on April 30, 2021. Preceded in death by her first husband, William Reese, in 2008, and by parents Edward E. and Mabelle A. (ne Albin) Hawkinson, and sister Marlys J. Lambert. Survived by her loving husband of 11 years William "Billy" Marton and her close friends Drew, Michael, and Joanne, and so many others. Elizabeth, known by many as Betty, was born in Deaconess Hospital, grew up in south Minneapolis, and graduated from Washburn High School in 1949. She attended Gustavus Adolfus College and graduated from the University of Minnesota. After college Elizabeth traveled throughout Europe and taught school in San Diego, CA and Fort Lauderdale, FL. She returned to Minnesota to spend many years as a kindergarten teacher in the Robbinsdale School District before retiring in the mid-90s. Elizabeth was a long-time member of the Minnesota Arboretum Ladies Auxiliary, Swedish Institute, and Mount Olivet Lutheran Church. An avid Vikings fan, she enjoyed skiing, golfing, playing bridge, boating, and gardening, or just sitting on the deck and watching the sun set over Lake Minnetonka. Elizabeth cherished her Swedish roots. Her Swedish meatball dinners, stuffed mushrooms, homemade soups, and "Betty Salads" were well known here and in Tucson. She was loved by many and will be missed. Services are May 17 at 10:30 AM at Mt. Olivet Church, 5025 Knox Ave., Minneapolis, and burial at 12:30 PM at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Animal Humane Society of Golden Valley, MN.
