Sholund, Monty Born Gothenburg, NE, August 4, 1920, died May 13, 2007. Age 86. Preceded in death by brother Milford, grandson, Jason. Survived by wife, Doris; daughter, Rebecca Becky Anderson (Bruce) of Maple Plain; grandchildren, Ryan and Julie Anderson; sisters, Veola Nordin, Inez Geisler. Graduate of Gothenburg High School 1938, Multnomah School of the Bible, 1943, Wheaton College, 1947, University of Witwatersrand, South Africa 1961. Missionary in the Congo beginning in 1947 where he taught at the Bible Institute, and initiated the building of Tandala Mission Hospital. Moved to South Africa teaching Biblical Studies, State University, Johannesburg SA. Founded Rosebank Bible College in Johannesburg, SA, being the principal until 1982 when they moved back to the U.S. to Maple Plain, MN. In 1982 Monty founded Village School of the Bible, now based in Minnetonka, MN. Monty taught in more then 30 locations around the U.S., Canada and Alaska. He touched many lives, both students and friends, and was always a great encourager. Special thanks to the wonderful friends that spent countless hours at Monty's bedside during his final struggle, and the staff of Hillcrest Care Center, and the Hospice Staff. His life was a long ministry marked by his love for the Lord, His Word, and for the people. Memorial Service Celebrating Gods love shown through Monty's life to be held Friday May 18, 2007, 10:30 am, Wayzata Evangelical Free Church, 705 Hwy 101 N. Plymouth, MN. Visitation, Thursday May 17 at David Lee Funeral Home in Wayzata, 5-7 pm, also one hour prior to the service at the church.
