Ester Colson Obituary Colson, Ester Kristina Kristina Thorvald (her stage name), of Wayzata, died Nov. 6, 2005 at age 98. Kristina was the 4th oldest of a family of 11 who highly valued music. Her first solo was at age 5 standing on a chair at church to be seen by the congregation. Later she studied at the Boston Conservatory of Music, sang with the Worchester Philharmonic Orchestra. Locally, she appeared on WCCO Radio's Cedric Adams' Stairway to Stardom program. Her singing career also consisted of being the featured soprano at various local concerts and churches, MN Conference camp meetings. At one time she sang at a performance of the St. Paul Pop's Orchestra. She sang proficiently in 5 languages. Kristina was preceded in death by husband, Ellis and sister, Harrieth Champine. She is loved and will be dearly missed by sons, Roy, Ingemar, Lennart & wife Beverly; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Feldt; brother, Sam Leifstedt & wife Bojan. Funeral Service 4 PM Thursday at Minnetonka Seventh-day Adventist Church, 3510 Williston Rd in Mtka. Visitation 1 hour prior to service at the church. Interment Tekamah, NE.
