Frances Jaffoni Obituary
December 17, 1916 to June 4th, 2016
Frances Jaffoni, resident of Plymouth MN, passed away on June 4th, 2016, at the age of 99. She was a native New Yorker, born on the Upper East Side to David and Frances Leishman on December 17th, 1916. She married Ralph J. Jaffoni, also of New York City, in 1942 in San Antonio, TX and they had one child, Frances T. Jaffoni, who now resides in Plymouth, MN.
Born at the end of WW1 and growing up during the Great Depression, Frances faced adversity at an early age. She went to work as a bookkeeper at her fathers carpenters union at the age of 15. She later worked as an executive secretary for three New York City mayors (including Mayor LaGuardia) and as an administrative assistant at Sherson Lehman Brothers. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, loyal friend and as a smart, driven and successful professional woman and will be profoundly missed.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 8th, 5-8pm, at David Lee Funeral Home in Wayzata, MN. On June 9th, there will be visitation from 9am-10am at Saint Bartholomews Catholic Church in Wayzata, MN followed by mass and interment at Gethsemane Cemetery in New Hope, MN.
