Frank Ferrin Obituary Frank John Ferrin 80, of Plymouth, Minnesota, went to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by his family in the comfort of his home on January 20, 2020.
Frank is survived by his wife of 57 years Virginia (Anderson) Ferrin; son, Jon (Pearl) Ferrin; daughter, Bethany (Bob) Simpson; and grandchildren Zach (Cassie) Simpson, Hanna Simpson, Curtis Ferrin and Luke Ferrin; sisters, Ann Gruenhagen and Judy (Douglas) Clark; sister-in-law, Jean Ferrin. Preceded in death by parents, John and Merle Ferrin, and brother, Russell Ferrin.
Graduated from Orono High school in 1957. Earned both bachelors and masters degrees in Electrical Engineering from University of Minnesota. Worked his entire career for the Honeywell Corporation, with projects including the Apollo capsules electronic instrumentation and the laser-helmet sight for US Army helicopters. He received Honeywells prestigious H.W. Sweatt Engineer-Scientist award in 1979.
Frank leaves a legacy of faith and devotion to his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved Jesus and accepted Him as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age. Frank taught Sunday School and Bible studies at the Maple Plain Community Church for many years and served on the Elder Board and Missions Committee.
Frank loved football and basketball, where his favorite team was always the Minnesota Gophers. He enjoyed talking with others across the globe on his amateur radio. He and Ginger enjoyed being at the North Shore of Minnesota to fish, hike, ski, and snowshoe.
Visitation prior to service at 10am on Saturday, January 25th. Memorial service at 11am at the Maple Plain Community Church in Maple Plain, Minnesota. Memorials may be designated to Maple Plain Community Church Missions.
