Gary Horton Obituary Gary Mason Horton of Plymouth, Minnesota passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 19th, 2022 at the age of 84, on the eve of his 85th birthday. Gary was born in Chicago, Illinois to mother Dorothy Schreiner and father Mason Horton of Hamburg, New York. The eldest of three siblings, Gary, Jim (80 years), and Bill (65 years), the family settled in Cleveland, Ohio, where Gary attended primary and secondary school and received his BS in Engineering from Case Tech (now Case Western Reserve). Gary went on to earn his MBA at the University of Washington in Seattle, where he met the love of his life, Judith Ann Clement. An avid swimmer, fisherman, and seaman, Gary worked as a boatswain at the Cleveland Yacht Club, where he honed his sailing, kayaking, and water skiing skills. Gary also had wide-ranging intellectual interests, chiefly in Aeronautics and Nuclear Engineering; he interned at the famed Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory outside Chicago and, at one point, considered a career at NASA. While working on his MBA in Seattle, Gary met Judy. The two immediately fell in love and were soon married. Gary and Judy moved to Minneapolis, where Gary took a Marketing position with Honeywell. He would go on to have a distinguished career, retiring as Marketing Director of Honeywell's Defense Systems Division. Gary and Judy lived a full life together, raising five children in Plymouth, MN and enjoying numerous grandchildren before Judy died of cancer in 2007. Since then, Gary lived independently in his own home until his passing. Gary is preceded in death by his parents Mason and Dorothy and his beloved wife Judy. He is survived by his two brothers, Jim and Bill; his children Vicki and husband Joe, Cindi and husband Chris, Pam and Johnny, Mike and wife Vick, and Chris and wife Steph; his 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
