George Walker Obituary Walker, George G. Jr. Born March 5, 1929, died October 16, 2008, at age 79. He is survived by loving wife of 52 years, Teresa Blatz Walker; children, Elizabeth Potter of Mason, OH, Melissa (James) O'Shaughnessy, of Greenwich, CT, and Christopher (Susan) Walker of Plymouth; grandchildren, Julia and Amanda Potter, Patrick, Kathryn and Lael O'Shaughnessy, and Lillian and Amelia Walker; sister, Diana Walker and husband, Paul Nicholls, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was educated at Buckley School in N.Y., St. Paul's School in N.H., Harvard College and Harvard Business School. He served as Lt. in the U.S. Navy, as an executive at the Northern Ordinance Division of FMC Corporation, was Chairman and CEO of DICOMED Corporation, and later Rector (acting president) of the Northwestern College of Chiropractic, (now Northwestern Health Sciences University). He served on a number of non-profit boards including the Collegeville Institute for Ecumenical and Cultural Research, Interfaith Outreach and Community Partners, Northwestern Health Sciences University and PRISM (People Responding in Social Ministry) of which he was past chair. Witty and urbane, a gentleman and a scholar, he had a broad range of interests and a zest for life. He was a gourmet cook, a pianist, a skilled photographer, was well-versed in the arts, and loved fine food, good wine, chocolate, plaid pants, and his Japanese garden. A man of faith, he was a dedicated volunteer, a loyal friend, and passionate about the family that loved him deeply. He will be sorely missed by the many whose lives he touched. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, October 20, 11 AM at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, 155 County Road 24, Medina. Visitation 1 hour prior to Mass. Interment at Holy Name Cemetery.
