Gerald D. Pint December 4, 1935 – September 3, 2026

Gary Pint, age 90, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2026. He was born on December 7, 1935, in Osage, Iowa, to Joseph and Marcella Pint.

Gary graduated from Iowa State University in 1958, where he was a member of the United States Army ROTC. He was active in the TKE Fraternity. After college, he began a successful 35-year career at 3M. He served as a senior executive before retiring in 1993. He was an active participant on advisory councils at ISU throughout his career at 3M. He also served as an advisor to the business school at the University of Texas at Austin, Texas. Gary served as a Director of several boards in his early retirement.

Gary was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Margaret Jeannine Pint; their four children, Martin (Patricia) Pint, Jeannine Smilanich, Kathryn Pint, and Jeffry (Michelle) Pint; nine grandchildren, Blake, Lindsay, Lauren, Michael, Amanda, Tyler, Austin, Dakota, and Tobin; and two great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Victoria.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Marcella Pint, and is survived by his siblings, Connie, Helen, Michael, and Mark.

Over the years, Gary and Margaret made their homes in Naples, Florida; Wayzata, Minnesota; and Gull Lake, Minnesota. Family was an important part of Gary's life, and he treasured the time spent with those closest to him.

Gary had a lifelong passion for classic cars. An avid collector and restorer, he took great pride in finding, restoring, preserving, and enjoying exceptional automobiles. His appreciation for their history and craftsmanship brought him great enjoyment over the years and was a passion he shared with family and friends.

Gary will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his accomplished career, his love of classic automobiles, and a life well lived.

A private service will be held in Wayzata, Minnesota, followed by burial in Wayzata.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
