Gloria Thompson Obituary Thompson, Gloria J. age 83 of St. Paul Park passed away into the loving arms of Jesus, September 11, 2017. Preceded in death by her husband, Norman. Survived by her family, best friend, Sandy Schuck, Faith Anderson (Carl), Dave (Linda), Paul, Mark (Kari); 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Johnson (Laurie) as well as many other loving relatives and friends. Gloria was the embodiment of grace and love to all that encountered her. Leading through a Christ-like heart, she served as the corner stone of faith to her family, as well as the congregation at All Saints Lutheran Church where she was a charter member. Her love of beauty extended out from within her into a career of managing three different department stores, Field-Schlick, Van Arsdells and Herbergers. She had a keen eye for fashion that she carried throughout her life. She loved to work in her gardens; Gertens being a favorite spot, travel and most importantly, ice cream. Gloria will be remembered as her name implies, full of the Glory of the Lord, always welcoming and always loving. Funeral service 11 a.m. Monday, September 18, 2017 at All Saints Lutheran Church, 8100 Belden Boulevard, Cottage Grove. Visitation 4-7 p.m. Sunday AT THE CHURCH and one hour prior to the service at church. Interment Newport Cemetery.
