Harriet was definitely a people person and loved everyone. Her face always lit up when she was talking about someone she knew, especially her family and friends. She was always saying "I appreciate that" and "I love you" to her care givers. She wanted to die with a smile on her face and in her heart and we know she did. She was an example to all.
Harriet treasured her family and kept in contact via letters and later by phone. She was always active in church, participating in many activities and ministries over her 96 years. She loved working with children. Harriet was a school teacher and in her 80s mentored students needing help with reading. Harriet was the leader of her daughters' Camp Fire Girls groups. Belonging to her P.E.O. Sisterhood with all her many sister/friends and activities was something she constantly talked about. Flowers and birds were two of God's creations that she especially enjoyed. Mom had incredible flower gardens all her life. She loved fishing, camping and of course, cooking and eating those fish! She loved being a Mom, but especially being a Grandma. Harriet and Cranston were avid bridge players and loved hosting all sorts of parties. Mom played cards until the final weeks of her life. And oh so much more. She will be greatly missed.
