Helia Erickson Obituary Erickson, Helia M. (Nauha) Queen of the North -1923 died 4/15/06 at age 104 years, 5 months. A pioneer, born in Ely with native Americans as neighbors. Survived by daughter, Marilyn Mitchell; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by daughter, Phyllis Hastings. Widowed when her children were 2 and 4. A woman before her time that worked two clerical jobs raising her daughters and getting them through the U of M. Worked until she was 75 and bought her first house at age 79 and drove until she was 98. Helia was a True Hero to her entire family. Memorial service at Lakewood Chapel TODAY, April 18th at 2 PM.
