Howard Dixon Obituary Howard Robert Dixon Age 75, of Minneapolis, Minnesota passed away on Thursday, September 1 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN, due to complications from a brain tumor. Howard was born on November 24, 1946, in Millville, New Jersey, to Howard and Julia Dixon. He grew up in Millville, served in the U.S. Army in Germany, and eventually ended up in Minnesota. For most of his life, Howard was a very successful CPA. Around the time he retired, he lost his life partner Jerry, who had been a real estate agent. Howard subsequently began another successful career as a real estate agent himself, based on all the knowledge he had gathered from Jerry over the years. Howard loved music, theater, playing piano, trivia night with the Jersey Kids team, driving (particularly stick-shift VW GTIs!), watching football (especially his Philadelphia Eagles!), and traveling. His favorite places to visit were Amsterdam, Las Vegas, and Ocean City, New Jersey. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He knew a lot of people, yet always had time for everybody. Isolation during the Covid lockdown was tough on him, but during that time he made recordings of himself playing piano and posted them online, which many of his friends looked forward to. Due to his openness and his ability to connect with people, he made friends everywhere he went. There are so many people who will miss him terribly. Howard is survived by his two sons, Jonathan and Thomas; three sisters (Nancy, Mary and Joan); one brother (David), and many nephews, nieces and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother (Ronald). Funeral services will be held at Plymouth Congregational Church, 1900 Nicollet Avenue South in Minneapolis, on Friday, September 9 at 2 p.m., with visitation prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Livestream link available at www.plymouth.org.
