Howard Ronning Obituary
Long-time resident of Wayzata, Howard died on Tuesday, July 14th from complications following a stroke. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary (Mimi infant son, Thomas Howard; son-in-law, Michael Dugan and baby grandson, Joseph; parents, Ole and Lorraine Ronning; and brother, Gene. Survived by daughters, Nancy Jordan (Frank), Barbara Dugan, and Julie Paul (Chris); grandchildren, Ben (Sarah), Nick (Sarah), Molly (Andrew), Luke (Adlina), John (Cate), Emma (Craig), Matthew, Cameron, Trevor, Lila, and Riley; great-grandchildren, Scion, Anna, Luke, Lilyana, and Mark; sister-in-law, Betty; brothers, Doug (Carol) and Gary (Barb); cherished nieces and nephews. Howard will be remembered for his trademark puns and affectionate teasing, dapper dress, fondness for hunting, fishing, and all things Minnesota, pride in his Norwegian ancestry, delight in his South High days, loyalty to friends, and great love for his family, especially his sweet wife, Mary. Possessing an abiding faith, Howard marveled at all of creation. A natural salesman, he took pride in his work and the relationships he built in business over the years. Part of the greatest generation he possessed deep integrity and was to the end a gentleman. He will be sorely missed. Our family wishes to thank the loving and vigilant staff at Haven Homes, as well as the wonderful staff at his former residence, Trails of Orono. Visitation is at 10:00 am with the funeral service at 11:00 am on Monday, July 20 at The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, 155 County Road 24, Medina. Memorials preferred to University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum or The Nature Conservancy.
