Iona Evans Obituary Evans, Iona Virginia (Allen) age 102, passed away peacefully February 25, 2009 in her home in Minnetrista, Minnesota. Born November 29, 1906 to Walter and Pearl Allen in Ashland, Kentucky. Virginia was active and alert right up to the stroke 2 weeks ago that eventually took her life. She was an avid reader, garden club member and sang in the choir for many years at her church, Grace United Methodist Church, in Canton, Ohio. She became a member of Bethel United Methodist church in Mound, Minnesota after moving from Ohio to Minnesota in 1996. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Henry Evans; her son, Jack Allen Evans; grandson, Michael Bruce Evans; her mother and father and three siblings, Kenneth Allen, Evelyn Allen Fisher, and Ruth Allen Pavlantos. She will be deeply missed by her sons, Dale Evans and wife Barbara, and Gary Evans and wife Linda, along with her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. We would like to thank Ridgeview Hospice and Crystal Care Home Health for the caring assistance in her transition to glory with her Lord Jesus. A private family service has been held. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Canton, Ohio. Memorials preferred to Minneapolis Heart Institute, Ridgeview Hospice, Waconia, Minnesota or either of her churches.
