Her great love for family and friends and her passion for living will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 19, 2016 at the Wayzata Community Church Chapel, 125 Wayzata Blvd E, Wayzata, MN 55391. On January 7, 1923, Irene was born in Litchfield, Minnesota the third child of Emmanuel W. Anderson and Hilda V. Anderson (nee Johnson). She was raised in Litchfield with three brothers Lewis, James and Elwin. Irene graduated from Litchfield High School in 1941. Irene was long and happily married to Ernest L. Clark (1919-2009). They were blessed with three boys Ernest Clark, Jr. of Leeds, Yorkshire (UK), Alan B. Clark (deceased) and Brian D. Clark of Minneapolis, MN. During their lifetime Irene and her husband thoroughly cherished time with their large network of extended family and friends. Irene's hallmark was her generous love and loyalty to family and friends. Her community work included becoming the first woman appointed to the New Hope City Council, volunteering for the Hennepin County Parks and Recreation Board, the annual Wayzata Community Church rummage sale and serving frequently as a Hennepin County Electoral Judge. Expressing gratitude was particularly important to Irene. Her family would like to thank the many people who devoted time and care for Irene in recent years. In particular deep gratitude goes to her devoted nephew Barry Anderson, dear friends Bob Kessler, Sue and Dan Hartman, Tina Hansen, Randy Reinke and Kevin Hanstad, and Reverend Lindy Purdy. Care for Irene also included a wonderful team of people from Cornerstone Assisted Living, Baywood Home Care, Augustana Chapel View Care Center and healthcare teams at Park Nicollet Health Partners and Bluestone Physician Services.
