Obituary

James Jeffrey Lynch, age 55, of Minnetonka, MN passed away on March 30, 2026. Born in Syracuse, NY in 1970.

Jim was a loving, dedicated father and spouse. Jim grew up on Grand Island, NY and met his great love, Jennifer, in 1997. They were married in 2000 and later welcomed their beautiful daughters. Jim treasured his girls, and he guided them with a wise, gentle demeanor and a twist of humor.

Jim graduated from the University of Dayton in 1992 with a degree in mechanical engineering and earned his medical degree from SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse in 1997. Jim was a skilled anesthesiologist and started his career as a CV Anesthesiologist at Mayo Clinic and later joined Midwest Anesthesiologists, PA in 2016. Jim was an exemplary doctor who selflessly cared for patients and mentored many other medical professionals. He was known for his calming bedside manner, compassionate presence and quiet competence. He was a trusted and esteemed colleague.

Jim had many interests that he enjoyed sharing with family and friends. He enjoyed grilling and cooking, photography, travel, fishing, and bird hunting. Jim was a tinkerer, and life was an endless series of projects. His dry sense of humor and wit were appreciated by all. Jim would drop everything to show up the moment he was needed by family, friends or colleagues. Jim was happiest in his boat with lines in the water on his beloved Lake Vermilion.

Jim is survived by his wife of 25 years, Jennifer Lynch (Root), daughters Elly and Olivia, and favorite Frenchie, Chip. Jim is also survived by his two brothers, a mother-in-law, two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews.

Forever thinking of others, Jim continues his legacy of service through his final act of organ donation.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 30th, 2026. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Vermilion Lake Association.
